​ABC is promoting the Louisiana Breastfeeding Coalition's BREASTFEEDING WELCOME HERE project. 
Our goal is to get as many local businesses on the pledge map in an effort to create a more breastfeeding-friendly Acadiana!

The purpose of the Breastfeeding Welcome Here project is to create breastfeeding-friendly establishments for mothers and their families and to provide support (time and space accommodations) for the employees of those establishments.  The goal is to provide more comfortable, shame-free areas in Louisiana businesses such as shopping venues, libraries, and restaurants for nursing mothers to have the freedom to be away from home for longer periods and patronize businesses in their communities.

The Louisiana Breastfeeding Coalition invites businesses throughout the state to sign this pledge to:
  • Provide a comfortable, supportive environment for mothers to nurse in their establishment.
  • Ensure that all staff members are aware of the project.
  • Display the Breastfeeding Welcome Here signage in a highly visible place.
  • Provide lactation accommodations (time and space other than a restroom) for their employees.
​Sign the pledge and join the other businesses in Louisiana who have said, “Breastfeeding is Welcome Here!”  We will give you a sign to display in your establishment.
