The Acadiana Breastfeeding Coalition (ABC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit group which consists of healthcare professionals, community leaders, and others who are dedicated to protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding through community outreach and support referrals. Since our birth in 2011, we at ABC have made it our mission to make breastfeeding the “norm” in Acadiana which results in healthier babies, mothers, and communities.
Globally, World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year August 1st-7th. ABC plans to continue our annual tradition by hosting a free public event in order to create breastfeeding awareness in Acadiana. Families and other local breastfeeding support organizations will be invited to participate in our event.
Events of this nature require financial resources, as do other educational community breastfeeding events that ABC sponsors throughout the year. As a small non-profit organization, ABC is soliciting funds to produce giveaways (t-shirts and other items that create public awareness for breastfeeding), educational materials, advertising, and other costs that come with event hosting. Sponsorships are fuel for our coalition and crucial in helping ABC to continue its efforts to normalize breastfeeding throughout Acadiana.

coalition needs & item specific donation opportunitiesThere are many ways, both big and small, that individuals and businesses can help contribute to ABC's efforts in making breastfeeding the "norm" throughout Acadiana. Many of the items can be monogrammed or embroidered to add your company logo and we know everyone loves advertisement! Please be sure to contact us prior to purchasing items, just in case the needs has already been met.
Below is a list of current Coalition, item-specific, needs: 1 - Roll of Dr.'s office table paper (This is used to top our changing pads at our diaper changing station we set up and provide for family friendly events throughout the community.)
1 or 2 Folding Rocking Chairs – Sponsors name/logo can be imprinted on it. Cost of Chair is about $50, plus logo. $60 should cover a chair and logo. (We have currently been borrowing an chair such as this, from an officer, and moms love having it to sit to nurse in.) 3- Yard Sale or Flag style Signs - These signs will direct event goers to our nursing/baby changing tent. Sponsors name/logo will be on the sign(s). Cost the be determined once sign is designed with logos. |

Want your business advertised?This thermo-snack swag bag were given out to moms who attended our World Breastfeeding Week Celebration on August 3, 2019. We still have plenty left over that we continue to give as door prizes and at events throughout the year. Any sponsor, community partner, or door prize donor can contribute to our swag bags. This event is geared toward breastfeeding moms and families! We would love to fill these swag bags with resources and goodies to help them succeed.
